Everything started after World War Two - 60 years ago in the courtyard of the Palazzo Ducale in Sassuolo. Dario Morotti, along with his cart, started collecting his neighbours’ scraps in the streets of the village and in the countryside. Soon his four young sons joined him and the business grew year after year. In 1957 they bought their first warehouse and in 1966, they finally founded Morotti Dario & Figli Snc. A steady increase in scrap supply and demand made the business grow further. Soon there were more and more areas outside Sassuolo being used for scrap collection.
Today we are still a family business. Our expertise is the result of the founder’s sons’ years of experience, his grandchildren’s professionalism, and his great-grandchildren’s strength and youth. Thanks to these qualities, we have developed into a multi-service company with several branch offices all over Italy. Our main business’ activity is to recycle and trade ferrous and nonferrous scraps, representing one of the most important companies in the sector in Italy. We also operate in the metal working sector, where we offer different services, from dismantling to maintenance and restructuring railways to cutting and working on plates and constructing luxury boats.
